I keep getting this over in my head

I posted this in a Yahoo Group I belong to and thought it would fit nicely here. Since this blog doesn't have any followers as of today, didn't think anyone would mind.

"Strengthen that which remains"

It's like a nagging (in a good kind of way) sentence that keeps playing over and over: "Strengthen that which remains". I know it's a verse, in Revelation, I believe. I started a blog for things like this.

And another thing:

I love my pastor and his wife dearly. But I see my church falling apart. People are leaving and it's very disheartening. He's an older man from Oklahoma, very kind and very wise man. I told him the other day that I'm committed to him and his wife. I'm not as committed to Reno Nazarene, but I am to him as a pastor. I begged him to never stop having "church" (although I really meant fellowship) even if it dwindles down to a tent with no more than 7 people in it. He assured
me he would never stop as long as he's still breathing.

Next door to our church is a thriving Universalist church. Its parking lot is always too full and its people have to park in the streets. They welcome all faiths and even have some witches borrowing their building. Every Sunday after our church is over, I watch people come out of the church next door, happy and smiling, wearing their Sunday's best.

As an usher who takes head count, I see our church getting smaller and smaller. Our pastor preaches straight from the bible with no holds barred, yet in a humble manner, allowing for the Holy Spirit to do His thing. I also know we have people who are trying to force their RELIGION (yes, religion) on others, which is chasing people off. Also, the Emergent doctrine tries to creep in, but it never seems to take hold, thank God.

Strengthen that which remains??? Not much remaining. Unless that's referring to me because my own fire is going out. Last night I watched our fireplace burn down into smoldering embers. I said to God, "That's my heart." I suppose that makes me lukewarm now.

Anyway, thanks for letting me rant. I need to "go down the hall" so I'll TTYL.

This part I didn't post in Yahoo Groups, but I will here. Here are the related verses:
Rev 3:1 And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, 'These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: "I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.

Rev 3:2 "Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God.

Rev 3:3 "Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.

Rev 3:4 "You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy.

Rev 3:5 "He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.

Rev 3:6 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."'

Getting Caught Up

No, not as in the Rapture. Caught up as in posting those things that have been on my heart recently.

My gut (a Blame It on the Pizza report ???)
My gut is telling me, and has been for some time now, that all shhtuff is about to hit the fan. I'm not talking about a few hurricanes and tornadoes followed by the Dow Jones falling a few hundred points. No, I'm talking birth pangs, beginning of sorrows, Matthew 24 kinda stuff.

  • Oh, but before going there, you should know my take on the end times (this is probably where you'll start to whip out your bible to disprove me, and I hope you do). The rapture can and will happen at any moment, but only after the Antichrist as been revealed. GASP! Such heresy you say! Well, when you're ready, we can dance around that one for a while. Also, before the Rapture, things are gonna get real ugly everywhere, not pretty as some pulpits preach.

This is about the point where people stick there heads back in the sand quoting "no man know the day or hour", and I don't blame them. We the sheeple of this empire have been living high on the hog in and we're used to it, so it is a scary thing for me to suggest these things. But for those of you who have the courage to pull your heads out, open your bible, and take the blue pill (or was it the red one?) please feel free to leave me a comment and we'll chat.

ANYWAY,

  • I sense an uprising that will not succeed in our very near future. I look around and see disgruntled people everywhere. Depression seems to be at an all-time high and people's fuses are getting much shorter. The powers that be in D.C. most likely know this; in fact, they caused a lot of it from both sides of the aisle. But this disgruntled-ness (please forgive the bushism) is global, not just in our empire, and their powers that be know it, as well.

Horses of a Different Color:

  • I also see a global economic collapse around the corner. Well, no duh, Sherlock. The world's been in economic shambles for some time now. No, I mean like 1929 style, but global. And I think many other people are sensing its coming too. This would explain Gold's recent rapid rise as rich investors are trying to save their assets. This also agrees with Revelation 6:5-6 (the black horse) as well as sets the stage for the Mark of the Beast.

  • It's also very obvious that we're about to go into another World War. This is especially obvious with North and South Korea about to go at it dragging their buddies in with them. This also agrees with that other horse of a different color (white I think) in Rev. 6.

I've had my ears to the ground for some time now, listening the these horses galloping closer and closer. I think now they're a little too close for comfort. Some of my more spiritual friends call me a watcher, like that song "I'm a girl watcher" except I'm a news watcher, and I think it's 21 century slang for "watchman". But you can call me a fanatical nut-job who likes to tie today's news with bible prophecy. And if I'm wrong, just blame it on last night's pizza.

Are there no roses in all this gloomy-doomy stuff?

Why yes, there are always roses in gloomy-doomy stuff. Well, that is if you're a blood-bought, born-again Christian. If you like roller coaster rides, think of what's coming as being on one, but a very thrilling one with not-so-trustworthy seat belts. If you are a blood-bought, born-again Christian but hate scary rides, sorry but you're still on that roller coaster (just close your eyes, clinch your fists, and scream to God, who's sitting next to you).

As we cling to God, with closed, white-knuckled fists, trusting in Him because we no longer have anything or anyone else to trust, we'll become whiter and brighter. Or perhaps we'll just seem whiter and brighter because the world is getting darker and darker. A lit candle is brighter at midnight than it is at sunset.
