Actually, I like this title I'm using. It's a play on the erroneous notion of "Separation of Church and State" which, by the way, is found nowhere in our US Constitution, although certain litigious organizations like to bash Christianity saying it is. Nevertheless, the reason I like this title is because there really is a separation between true biblical faith in God and the church. There really shouldn't be, but unfortunately there is.
See, almost immediately after I received Jesus Christ by faith as my Lord and Savior back in 1994, I had this unquenchable hunger to read the Bible. As time progressed, the more I read my bible, the more I saw discrepancies in today's churches. Do I go to church now? YOU BET!! I love and need the fellowship of the brethren, and I'm not supposed to forsake the assembling of myself with them. But I still see discrepancies everywhere I go between today's "churchianity" and true biblical Christianity.
But that's not why I started this blog. This will NOT be a blog for church bashing. Instead this will be a place where I post "heavy revies" from my bible reading, from things I've heard, and/or from the gut that I think is God talking to me. But I'm not afraid to post things that most pulpits disagree with. And I love it when doing so causes other believers to try to disprove me. It forces them to sharpen my iron with the word of God instead of another person's sermon. And if the bible proves me wrong, just blame it on last night's pizza.
